Our Ministries

Ministry

Prayers for the Headlines — Reaches 30,000 listeners 3 times each week. Written and recorded by Rev. Langer, broadcast over WITZ at 7:58 AM on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Funded ($4200 annually) from the Parker Mission Fund. Contributions welcome!
Men's Prayer Breakfast held weekly at the St. Charles Health Campus
Worship Team/Choir — Provides music for every worship service
Childcare- Provides childcare during worship services
Worship Service Videos — Provides a VCR recording of the entire Sunday morning worship service for Northwood Retirement Home, St. Charles Health Campus, and Brookside Village
First Presbyterian Church Deacons' Fund — Provides financial help to our members or others in need. Funded by our 3rd Sunday special collection
Mary Martha Circle Missions- Birthday and Least Coin offering, sent to the Presbytery for Women's missions, Bazaar and Bake Sale Profits — used for church needs(tables & chairs, lawn care, kitchen appliances, stained glass windows, steeple, World Day of Prayer- Dubois County, etc)
Mothers Day Out program — Self supporting, serves families in our community, brings young families into our church.
Vacation Bible School — Annual summer outreach to children in our community. Funded with Mission funds.
Off- Site Devotions — Northwood Retirement Home, St, Charles Health Care, Brookside Village,. Also includes bi-weekly study at St. Charles. Led by Rev. Langer.

Missions

Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) giving- Funded by our giving ($1806 annually) supports Presbytery, Synod and General Assembly. $26.65 per member. Covers the administrative costs of these church entities.
New Church Development and Redevelopment- ($1200 annually) Presbytery of Ohio Valley project.
Theological Education Fund — ($960 annually) Helps support 9 Presbyterian seminaries
Camp PYOCA — ($1000 annually) helps fund major improvements to our camp and conference center at Brownstown, IN. Jointly owned by the Ohio Valley and Whitewater Valley Presbyteries. Mary Martha Circle also funded new Bibles for campers' use.
Dubois County Center for Women's Ministries ($600 annually) Provide counseling, classes, safe places, etc for women and children of the county.
Dubois County Clergy Association — ($300 annually) Assistance program administered by Tri-Cap to help with rent and utilities to those in need in the county.
Dubois County Food Bank.- Collection 2nd Sunday or any day. Cash donations also accepted
Crisis Connection- Collection 4th Sunday or any day. Sample sized toiletries for those in need.
Zoar Church Bible Materials- Used or outdated study materials, Bibles etc. Sent to Appalachia.
Paperback Books for Iraq- Collected and shipped to the military
Shoe Box Christmas Gifts - through Dubois County Food Bank
